Justice (r) Wajeedud Din Ahmed has accused 55 senior leaders of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) of rigging the previous intra-party elections.

The former PTI member has requested that PTI Chairman Imran Khan should not allow these leaders to participate in the coming party elections.

In an email sent to the PTI chief, Justice (r) Wajeeh listed names of some top PTI leaders, including Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Naeem-ul-Haq and Shireen Mazari, stating that the party’s election tribunal had investigated every complaint in the previous intraparty polls.

He also called for barring those who were not concerned with the previous party elections and those who performed duties in the organiser setup.

PTI has earlier announced that it would hold fresh intraparty elections and a seven-member committee was formed in this regard.

The PTI chief said he wanted to transform the party into an institution, adding that the workers will directly elect their representatives.
