The Supreme Court (SC) has set aside the Lahore High Court (LHC) decision in connection with release of Ghulam Qadir, an accused in Jaranwala murder case and ordered police to arrest him from the court room.
Following the order, police arrested him from the court room.
Justice Amir Hani Muslim remarked, “ it seems from the incidents occurring in the society that neither no one has to die nor has anyone to render accountable before Almighty Allah. Now the enemies are got killed by hiring the killers.

A three-members bench of SC headed by the Chief Justice of Pakistan ( CJP) Anwar Zaheer Jamali took up the case for hearing on Tuesday.
The accused Ghulam Qadir had killed Arif on January 25, 1999 in Jaranwala to take revenge of murder of his brother. The subordinate court had awarded capital punishment to him. The Lahore High Court had nullified this sentence and had ordered his release. The family members of deceased had filed appeal plea against LHC’s decision.
The court did not agree to the arguments from the counsel of the convict and declared decision given by the LHC in 2006 null and void, commuted the death sentence of the accused into life imprisonment and ordered his immediate arrest .
