The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) arrested two extortionists with arms and hand grenades during a crackdown here on Monday.
Over complaint of a trader the CTD team conducted operation in Mardan city during which two extortionists involved in blackmailing the traders and wealthy people were arrested. Pistols and two hand grenades were also recovered from the possession of the detainees.
The nabbed culprits have been shifted to an undisclosed location for further interrogation and according to sources their affiliation with banned outfits could not be ruled out.
