Three suspected militants were killed in a trade of fire with security forces in Quetta’s Sariab Road area late Saturday night, security sources said.
They said a raid was carried out on a tip off about the presence of militants in the area. A cache of weapons was also seized during the operation, they added.
According to the Frontier Corps spokesperson, the militants belonged to a terrorist outfit.
In another incident, a small portion of railway track was damaged in a blast near Sariab Road.
Police sources said unidentified militants had planted an improvised explosive device near the railway track. Fortunately, no loss of life was reported.
Investigation is in progress. There was no immediate claim for responsibility for the blast.
