Provincial Minister for Minority Affairs and Human Rights Khalil Tahir Sindhu has said that sharing of Christmas joys with the poor and destitute persons is the real spirit of this festival.
He was speaking at a ceremony regarding distribution of Christmas gifts among deserving aged persons at Bishop Ayub Khawar Gill Church in Yuhanabad on Sunday. Parliamentary Secretary Tariq Masih Gill was also present on the occasion. The minister also cut a Christmas cake on this occasion and stressed upon philanthropists to share the joys of Christmas with the less fortunate brethren by extending practical help to the poor and destitute persons.
He said that summary for distribution of Christmas grant among deserving persons has been sent to the government and after its approval, cheques will be distributed through DCOs in all the districts of Punjab.
Meanwhile, Provincial Minister for Labour and Manpower Raja Ashfaq Sarwar has said that Pakistani doctors are rendering invaluable services in provision of medical facilities.
He said the Punjab government is providing huge amount for improving health sector. He expressed these views while addressing inaugural ceremony of 25th national conference of ear, nose and throat (ENT) under the aegis of Pakistan Society of Otorhinolaryngology. The minister said that due to ENT conference, young doctors will get awareness of modern techniques of treatment.
Earlier, Chairman Organising Committee Dr Muhammad Ajmal highlighted the aims and objective of the conference. Later, the minister distributed lifetime achievement awards among six Pakistani ENT experts on their excellent services in ENT field. Those who received awards include Muhammad Ayub, Khalid Mehmood and Kamal.
