Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has felicitated party candidates who secured success in third phase of local bodies (LB) elections in Sindh and Punjab and termed the results as encouraging in an environment where PPP was subjected to worst propaganda.

In a statement issued here on Sunday, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that despite the odds created by dictatorial forces and their front-men, a large number of PPP candidates had won their seats. He lauded the PPP candidates who stood to the ground and gave strong contest to opponents thus showing the strength that many political parties had been unable to maintain in similar situations. The PPP chairman said his party had won all the 23 District Councils in Sindh and won a sizeable number of seats in Punjab, adding that he was proud of the party voters and the Jiyalas who made this possible. Bilawal Bhutto congratulated the PPP leaders, workers and the office-bearers for their efforts and struggle during the election campaign.
