The recently formed Police Response Unit (PRU) has foiled a rape attempt and saved the life of an innocent eight- year-old girl in the Sabzazar area.

The policemen of PRU Unit 105 were patrolling in the area at around 3.30 pm on Saturday and found that a rickshaw driver was trying to rape a girl in a deserted area. The vigilant policemen reached the spot and arrested the culprit. An FIR against the accused Yaqoob has been registered with the Sabzazar Police Station. Yaqoob, aged 40, confessed that he used to provide pick and drop to the girl daily and on Saturday he took her to a deserted area in order to rape her.

DIG (Operations) Dr Haider Ashraf ordered a stern action against the culprit and admired the services of policemen.
