Lady and the Tramp

The PTI’s Naz Baloch has an abject inability to talk about the issue at hand. Any issue.

One has almost never seen her answering the question itself. Whether the issue is about voter registration, taxation, law and order or education, she will always give a polly-wants-a-cracker rote-learnt argument that the other party is “corrupt”.

A one-size-fits-all argument that perhaps works well for a lady who otherwise doesn’t seem to be a candidate for the Nobel Prize for Physics.

But her sputtering diatribes make for good TV. Especially when sitting next to “Dr” Amir Liaquat, who was though kicked out of the MQM, is seen defending the party of late. His strict alternations between being saccharine sweet ad nauseum and being downright crude are always amusing to watch.

The two were around on ARY’s coverage of the local polls in Karachi. Their fights were so entertaining that host Waseem Badami said on air that he got the channel authorities requesting the two to stay in the studio because of the ratings they were getting.
