PIA initiates inquiry against pilot for allowing Reham Khan into cockpit

Pakistan International Airlines has initiated an inquiry against one of its pilots for allowing broadcast journalist Reham Khan to sit in the cockpit while travelling to Lahore from London.

“According to initial probe, it has been found that Reham Khan visited the cockpit for a few minutes during flight PK-788 London-Lahore on Thursday,” PIA spokesman Danial Gilani told local media.

According to the pilot’s statement to the administration, he had ‘entertained’ the request of Reham Khan to sit in the cockpit.

“Although it appears a courtesy on the part of the pilot, the PIA cannot ignore the rules,” Mr Gilani said, adding that under the law, unauthorised persons were not allowed into the cockpit.

Ex-wife of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf Chairman on Thursday returned to Pakistan, after being away for a month following her divorce to Imran. Speaking to the media at Lahore airport, she said, “I am a pathan, we know how to give our lives and fight. People think they will scare me, threaten me or use bad language with me because I’m a woman… When one is innocent and in the right, why should they be quiet?”
