Sindh Chief Secretary Muhammad Siddique Memon presided over a meeting of anti corruption committee-one (ACC) at his office on Friday.
The meeting was attended among others by chairman of ACE Syed Mumtaz Ali Shah, ACS Home, Muhammad Waseem, Secretaries Zaheer Hyder Shah (Irrigation) Jamal Mustafa Syed (Services) Imran Ata (LG) and other officers.
The meeting decided to initiate open enquiries by ACE against DC-Jamshoro Ayo Khan Mari, during whose tenure, thousands of acres of land belonging to Sindh University Township was encroached upon. Orders for open enquiries were also accorded against Director General HDA, TMO Qasimabad Hyderabad, Hakim Ali Mallah, Sardar Ali Janwri ex-taluka nazim Shahdadkot, ex-TMO Manzoor Ahmed Shaikh and ex official of the public health department, Zahid Shaikh.
The committee also approved open enquiry against the ex-Distt officer – CDGK Rashid Aqeel, for violation of rules and regulations and decided to register FIR and arrest Mushtaq Memon, Circle Supervisor Naushehro Feroze, for illegal procurement during a ban-period. The registration of FIR and arrest was also ordered against Abdul Qavi Khan for arranging fake documents for a plot.
A number of cases of local government and irrigation departments were referred to their secretaries for re-enquiry and initiating legal action against defaulters. The CS warned that in case no cooperation was extended to ACE or other institutions, the secretary of the concerned department would be held responsible. The CS also directed the secretary local government department to devise an effective mechanism aimed at streamlining affairs of Sindh Building Control Authority and furnish the same for approval.
