District administration and the contestants have hired more than 1,000 vehicles for the election duty due to which the transport crisis is feared in Rawalpindi on Friday and Saturday 4 and 5 December, while administration is unable to provide alternative transport to citizens.

According to details district administration hired these vehicles including carry, pickups and wagons to transmit staff for election duty while hundreds of vehicles have been hired by the contestants too. In this way all the vehicles running on public routes would be on election duty due to which passengers would face shortage of transport.

Citizens said that the shortage of transport would cause lot of inconvenience for them while it would also provide an opportunity to the cabs to charge at will.

They said what was needed was to hire transport from the areas where LB elections have already been held as that would have ensured easy movement of the people.
