Reasserting his commitment to wipe out terrorism, Pakistan Rangers (Sindh) Director General Major-General Bilal Akbar said on Thursday that the operation against criminals and terrorists in Karachi would continue till elimination of the last assassin.
Talking to media after reviewing security arrangements for the Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) chehlum procession, the Rangers chief said that the attacks on law enforcement agencies “strengthened our resolve to root out terrorism”.
He said that the Rangers’ operation against terrorists was going on successfully and that was why law enforcers were being attacked by terrorists out of desperation.
To a media query, he said that the law-enforcement agencies would soon arrest the culprits behind the attack on military police, adding that investigation into the attacks on Rangers and army personnel was underway.
He said that the sacrifices of those who laid down their lives for peace would not go in vain. He also told the reporters that the paramilitary troops would provide full security to the mourners on the occasion of Imam Hussain (AS)’s chehlum.
