An unpleasant experience

In a discussion programme PML-N representative Siddiqul Farooq was making his point in a logical and dignified manner without unduly raising his voice as is his norm. Unable to think of a rejoinder to what had been said, the MQM representative started off by saying, “The difference between you and me is that I am from an educated and cultured background.”

It is this supercilious, holier-than-thou, attitude of some of our Urdu speaking friends which leaves a very bad taste in the mouth. What if Punjabi had been the national language, where would that have left these glib talkers born with the gift-of-the-gab?
