Karachi operation to be sped up: apex committee

Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah directed to speed up Karachi operation during a meeting of apex committee held on Wednesday.

A meeting of the apex committee was convened in the city as the IG briefed the meeting as to how the attack on military police in Karachi was conducted. Rangers officials briefed about targeted operations as well. The chief minister urged at the meeting to implement the national action plan (NAP).

It was decided during the meeting that Karachi operation should be sped up while enemies of the state should be dealt with strictly. As per sources, acquittal of prisoners involved in heinous crimes was also discussed.

The chief minister presided over the provincial apex committee and reviewed the pace of implementation of the national action plan. The meeting also discussed the security situation.

Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad, IGP Ghulam Haider Jamali, Corps Commander Karachi Naveed Mukhtar and DG Rangers Maj-Gen Bilal Akbar also participated in the meeting.
