Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj is likely visit to Pakistan next week, Indian media reported on Wednesday.
The key minister of Modi-led government is expected to attend a 27-nation meeting on Afghanistan, due in Islamabad on December 7, an Indian news agency reported.
On November 9, Prime Minister Sharif’s Foreign Adviser Sartaj Aziz and Afghanistan Foreign Minister Salahuddin Rabbani sent invitation to 14 members and 17 supporting countries including India to attend the Heart of Asia conference.
The conference will be held in Islamabad where Afghan peace will be the topic of main discussion besides cooperation between other regional countries.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi met and greeted Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in Paris on the sidelines of the recently-held United Nations conference on climate change. The Indian premier had walked up to Sharif to shake hands with him and both the figures sat on a sofa together.
The two had a brief discussion at the meeting held in a friendly atmosphere. The regional situation along with bilateral ties also came under discussion during this brief meeting.
