Eng Khurshed Anwer has written a letter in Pakistan Today, dated 02-12-2015, titled “Shed the cobwebs of ignorance”, blaming ignorance of politicians about facts of KBD. I would submit it is not the ignorance but dirty politics that stands in the way of KBD. A former Chairman of WAPDA Eng Zahid Ali Akbar when explained the true facts of KBD to Begum Nasim Wali Khan, she had reportedly said that “All you say about KBD is correct but if you offer KBD to us in a golden plate we would not accept it because all along they had been saying that it is not good for KP.”
So it is not ignorance but studied diehard politics in the garb of ignorance that is standing in the way of KBD. How can you show light to the people with vested political interests? So much that a former Prime Minister Mr Yousaf Raza Gillani had declared that KBD had become a victim of politics. As such only a strong central leader could clear the cobwebs around KBD as cobwebs can only be brushed aside by a strong leader. Unfortunately, no politician of the day can call a spade a spade.
