Govt denies ‘secret Nawaz-Modi meeting’

The government on Wednesday rejected reports of a “secret meeting” between Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi and Prime Minister of Pakistan Muhammad Nawaz Sharif on the sidelines of the SAARC summit in Kathmandu Nepal in 2014.

An official statement rejected the media reports as “baseless, malicious and concocted”.

The statement regretted that despite the clarification, some sections of media were continuing to air this “false news”.

The statement said the allegation was ‘nothing but a pack of lies and an attempt to malign the office of the prime minister’.
