Unidentified attackers hurled a hand grenade on the Lahore office of a local television channel DIN News on Tuesday evening, injuring two policemen and a channel employee.

The attackers also threw pamphlets containing threats from ‘Daulat-i-Islamia’ (Islamic State group).

Last month, a similar attack outside another news channel, Dunya News’ Faisalabad bureau had left three of the channel’s employees injured.

The attackers had also thrown pamphlets containing threats from a certain ‘Daulat-i-Islamia Khorasan’ (Islamic State- Khorasan group) claiming responsibility for the attack.

While on Friday, unidentified gunmen had attacked a Dawn News Digital Satellite News Gathering (DSNG) van in the Essa Nagri area of Karachi, leaving one staffer injured.

Attackers riding motorcycles fired straight shots at the DSNG van near Essa Nagri, leaving technician Hassan Mateen severely injured. Mateen was taken to a private hospital for treatment.

  1. No changing of place at a hundred miles an hour will make us one whit stronger, or happier, or wiser. There was always more in the world than man could see, walked they ever so slowly; they will see it no better for going fast. The really precious things are thought and sight, not pace. It does a bullet no good to go fast; and a man, if he be truly a man, no harm to go slow; for his glory is not at all in going, but in being.
