Kasur scandal: ATC indicts 6 accused in two cases

An anti-terrorism court (ATC) Monday indicted six accused in two cases registered in connection with Kasur scandal.
Earlier, the police produced six accused including Arshad, Ramzan and others before ATC-IV Judge Chaudhry Muhammad Ilyas in strict security. The court indicted the accused but all of them pleaded not guilty and contended to contest the charges.
At this, the court adjourning the matter till December 7 summoned prosecution witnesses for recording their statement. The indictment of the accused came after police submitted challans (charge-sheet) against the suspects in the court.
The police had declared them guilty.
Ganda Singh Wala/Kasur police had registered a total of 31 cases in connection with the Kasur child abuse scandal against 20 accused. 25 cases were registered under sections of 506, 293, 387, 386 and 377 of the criminal procedure code and sections of Anti-Terrorism Act whereas six other cases were registered under sections of criminal procedure code alone.
