“This changes everything!” says ill-informed man
Islamabad – Our Jazbati Correspondent: Not sure at all about what this means for his calling rates, local Lahori pre-paid customer Tanveer Butt was somehow most excited about the imminent Warid, Mobilink merger.
“This changes everything,” said Butt, an accounts manager at a local gym.
“Could anyone imagine, twenty years ago, that Warid would one day be bought by Mobilink,” he asked, talking about a company that only started its operations in Pakistan ten years ago.
“And this is going to be great for my phone bill as well,” he added, despite not having a bill higher than Rs1,000 in the ten years since he has had a Mobilink number and also not being privy to any information whatsoever about any rate drop.
One of Butt’s sources of information might be his former university classmate Naveed Jah, a call centre agent at Warid, who somehow thinks this would lead to a raise in his salary, even though his name will be included in the first batch of massive downsizing.
