Pakistan has reiterated that it is ready to discuss all outstanding issues with India, including Kashmir, provided that New Delhi attaches no pre-conditions.
This was stated by Foreign Office Spokesperson Qazi Khalilullah while responding to a question at the weekly news briefing on Thursday.
To another question he said Pakistan has consistently maintained that the Nuclear Suppliers Group (NSG) should follow an objective, equitable and non-discriminatory approach for admitting new members.
He cautioned that grant of exclusive membership to India as an exception on account of political and commercial consideration would adversely affect the credibility of the non-proliferation regime. It will also bear negative implications for regional peace and security.
The spokesperson said Pakistan welcomes remarks of NSG chair during his visit to India last month wherein he ruled out a tailor-made India-specific solution for NSG membership.
He said Ministry of Foreign Affairs and our missions accredited to 48 member states of the Group continue to brief their interlocutors about Pakistan’s strong credentials for NSG membership. On Pakistan’s formal request, the chair has circulated documents among members elaborating our point of view.
Responding to another question, he expressed concerns on growing incidents of hate crimes against Muslims after Paris attacks.
He said Islam has nothing to do with terrorism as it is a religion of peace and preaches brotherhood.
Turning to Turkey downing a Russian fighter jet, the spokesperson said tension between Ankara and Moscow should be eased through peaceful negotiations.
Answering a question, Qazi Khalilullah said Pakistan encourages contacts between Pakistan and Afghanistan at all levels.
He said Pakistan and Bangladesh enjoy brotherly relations independent of any influence of other country. He said there is a need for reconciliation in Bangladesh in line with the tripartite agreement of April 1974 that calls for a forward looking approach towards matters pertaining to the events of 1971.
He said Pakistan has noted the demarche given to our High Commissioner and the press release issued by the ministry of foreign affairs of Bangladesh.
He said as there are several points that deserve to be responded, Pakistan would summon BD High Commissioner for the purpose.
Pakistan has every reason to be unhappy. It can even voice it vociferously. But to use pejorative "creeping" does suggest a creepy feeling. Which, to put in the mildest terms, is uncalled for. For the simple reason that it sounds churlish.
Pakistan is opposed to yet another country-specific exemption from NSG rules to grant membership to India, as this would further compound the already fragile strategic stability environment in South Asia, would further undermine the credibility of NSG and weaken the non-proliferation regime. A country, in violation of United Nations Security Council resolutions on matters of international peace and security, such as the Jammu and Kashmir dispute, by no means qualifies for a special status in the Security Council.
Pakistan will never get into NSG. Pakistan has a record of selling nuclear weapon technology in the black market. AQ khan was an international crook also the father of pakistan's nuclear weapon, sold nuclear technology with blue prints of nuclear warheads to Iran, Libya and North korea. Once India gets in, it will block pakistan from ever entering.
