Info Minister urges Imran to comply with ECP code

Federal Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid on Friday advised Imran Khan to abide by the code of conduct of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) after Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) insisted on holding its rally in Islamabad.

The minister said that the rally had already caused a massive gridlock in the federal capital. He said that Imran Khan must comply with the law to set an example for others. “Imran Khan is a big leader and it is incumbent upon him to abide by the law,” he said while talking to media.

He said the rally would not impact outcome of election. When asked whether the law would take its course if Khan decides to go ahead with his plan, he said the local administration would take decisions keeping in view the situation.

Rashid said that Nawaz Sharif, Shahbaz Sharif and Maulana Fazlur Rehman had not addressed any election rally at all. Local government election will be held in Islamabad on November 30.
