The Counter-Terrorism Department on Friday said they had apprehended the head of banned Islamist outfit, Hizbut Tahrir (HuT) in Karachi.
“We have arrested Siham Qamar, Ameer of Hizbul Tahrir (HuT) – Karachi branch, from Gulshan-e-Iqbal,” SSP Usman Bajwa told reporters.
The suspect, he said, was employee of K-Electric Company.
According to Bajwa, Siham Qamar was involved in propagating his group’s ideology in the city’s colleges and other educational institutes.
He has been shifted to undisclosed location for interrogation.
