Fire in Rawalpindi plaza injures five people

At least five people in Rawalpindi sustained minor injuries on Friday when fire erupted in a plaza located near Khanna Bridge.

The incident occurred early morning when fire broke out in the basement of the plaza where a large stock of wood and ply-board was placed. The fire flared up swiftly due to the material present inside the rooms and also engulfed other shops.

Fire brigade controlled the blaze after a hectic effort of three hours however; five people residing in the upper storey of the plaza were injured slightly.
