ATC indicts 66 persons accused in PTI worker murder case in Faisalabad

 

 

As many as 66 persons accused in the murder of PTI worker Haq Nawaz in the Novelty bridge tragedy were indicted on Wednesday.

According to the news agency, Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) led by judge Raja Pervez Akhtar indicted 66 accused persons, including Chaudhry Pervez Jutt, right hand man of provincial law minister Rana Sanaullah and his six gunmen, 9 newly elected chairmen and vice chairmen and 18 newly elected general councillors.

PTI worker Haq Nawaz Khan was killed during aerial firing on the procession of PTI workers at Novelty bridge on December 8, 2014 on the eve of Imran Khan’s arrival in Faisalabad.

The local leadership of the PTI has filed a case in Lahore High Court for summoning the other nominated accused in the case including State Minister Chaudhry Abid Sher Ali, Law Minister Rana Sana Ullah Khan, Rana Ahmad Shehryar, Mian Tahir Jamil and DCO Faisalabad Noorul Amin Mengal. The police had declared that these accused persons were not involved in the incident.
