Four terrorists killed in city

At least four terrorists of a banned outfit were killed while two security forces personnel injured during an encounter in Manghopir area in the wee hours of Wednesday.

According to Rangers spokesman, on a tip off about the presence of terrorists in the area, police and Rangers conducted a joint raid in Allah Bachaio Goth in Karachi.

During the raid, the terrorists hiding in the area opened fire. Resultantly, an assistant sub inspector (ASI) and a Rangers personnel sustained bullet injuries. In retaliation, four terrorists were killed on the spot. Weapons and explosives were also recovered from their possession.

The spokesman said that two dead militants were identified as Taj Mohammad Mehsud and Altaf Afridi. The killed terrorists belonged to a banned terrorist organisation and the bodies were shifted to a hospital, he added.

Meanwhile, unidentified gunmen in a firing incident at Murghikhana stop of Quaidabad killed a security guard identified as Mumtaz.

The counter-terrorism department (CTD) police in a raid at Manghopir Road arrested Usman Ghani alias Gattha – a suspected target killer- with illegal weapons.

A robber identified as Junaid was killed in police fire during a robbery in North Nazimabad Block-D in Karachi. Another robber escaped from the scene, police sources said. Moreover, a dead body packed in a bad was found from a nallah in Baloch Colony.
