The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Monday informed the Sindh High Court (SHC) that accused Faheem Ahmed Zia had misappropriated a compensation amount tagged for the affectees of Lyari Expressway (LEW).
The NAB filed its report in the SHC bench headed by Justice Naimatullah Phulpoto stating that Zia had embezzled the compensation amount meant for the affectees of Lyari Expressway.
NAB’s report went on to say that 49 crossed cheques, issued to Lyari Expressway’s affectees, of Rs 50,000 each, had been found to be credited in bank accounts of three persons including Zia. NAB said that Zia should not be given any relief by the court, as he had caused a huge loss to the national exchequer and that his petition should be dismissed.
According to the accused Zia, NAB had filed a reference against him but he had nothing to do with any corruption or embezzlement.
