Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan said on Monday that the person accused of blasphemy in Jehlum had been arrested so there was no need to exploit this incident which was purely an act of an individual.
Talking to media, the minister said that immediately after the incident in Jhelum, the administration and police took prompt action and arrested the culprit.
He however added that it was very unfortunate that some forces were exploiting the situation for their vested interests and trying to create law and order situation.
Sanaullah said the government was committed to wiping out sectarianism and terrorism and the media should also play a pivotal role in discouraging the elements trying to play up the petty issues for their vested interests.
