Sharif says it’s time govt comes up to voters’ expectations

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) levels allegations of rigging after losing every election.

He was chairing an important meeting at Model Town and at the residence of PML-N members of the Assembly Afzal Khokhar and Saiful Mulook Khokhar on Monday.

Prime Minister Sharif said that the government is working day and night for the welfare of the masses.

The prime minister said that after PML-N’s comprehensive victory in the local government elections, the government has the responsibility to live up to the confidence and trust that the people have shown. He said the PML-N would fulfill the commitment made to the people about overcoming load shedding, price hikes and unemployment.

The prime minister said that resources are being provided on priority basis for provision of basic amenities to the people. He said every penny is being spent honestly on the welfare and prosperity of the people.

He said projects are being implemented rapidly in Punjab and other parts of the country to facilitate the people. He said they are making efforts to resolve the basic problems of the people through execution of mega projects.

The prime minister directed elected representatives to focus on resolving the problems of the people in their respective constituencies.

He also said that no stone should be left unturned to provide education, health facilities, clean drinking water, improvement of infrastructure, and other facilities to the people.

Nawaz Sharif said historic Kissan package is benefiting the farmers. He said immediate action was taken to provide relief to the earthquake affected people and he himself visited the affected areas for this purpose.

Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif said people have reposed confidence in PML-N in the first and second phase of local government elections. He said these elections also validated the general elections of 2013.

The Punjab chief minister briefed the prime minister about the Orange Line train and other development projects.

Nawaz Sharif expressed his full satisfaction over the performance of Punjab government and directed that the speed of work be accelerated. He said the Orange Line Train project would provide a model and immediate transport service to the commuters.
