Ever thought a Selfie with the gorgeous Kareena Kapoor could get you in trouble?

Only if you’re an Indian politician!

The Chief Minister of the Indian state of Chhattisgarh — Raman Singh — was harshly criticised by rival political party, Congress, for attempting to take a Selfie with the actress.

Apparently, there was nothing wrong with the act itself, it was just at an inappropriate time and place. The Bollywood diva, who is the celebrity advocate of UNICEF India, was attending a children’s rights event in Raipur when the CM got overwhelmed by her charm and couldn’t resist clicking a Selfie in the middle of the event, reports Times of India.

The event was organised by Chhattisgarh school education and child welfare department along with UNICEF India on November 20. The picture went viral on social media, resulting in severe backlash from the opposition.

Chhattigarh’s Congress president, Bhupesh Baghel, accused the CM of neglecting his political duties. “Farmers are committing suicide in the state due to drought and the CM is busy clicking selfies with Kareena. What does he want to prove by clicking a Selfie with Kareena when women of the state are being insulted by the state government? The people of Chhattisgarh are far away from such culture,” he was quoted as saying.

Although Indian Twitter didn’t see anything wrong with it:
