Ambassador of Germany to Pakistan Ina Lepel Monday visited Sialkot International Airport and praised the vision and entrepreneurship which made the project a success.
She had a meeting with Chairman of Sialkot international Airport Mian Muhammad Riaz and Board of directors.
Speaking on the occasion, the German Ambassador lauded the role of the business community for completing the Sialkot International Airport project on self help basis.
Later, the Ambassador along with Sialkot International Airport Chairman visited different sections of the airport.
Earlier, addressing a meeting, Sialkot International Airport Chairman Muhammad Riaz said that the airport was an exceptionally important mega project in the private sector and was the first ever initiative of its kind in the country as well as in the region.
“The area bounded by the unique triangle comprising Sialkot-Gujranwala and Gujrat has a great number of overseas Pakistanis working in European and Gulf countries”, he said.
He said the airport had accelerated the pace of cargo transportation, thus facilitating a number of businessmen and overseas Pakistanis, as well as general travellers.
