A dengue affected woman died during treatment in a hospital here on Sunday after which death toll due to the dreadful disease during the current year has climbed to seven.
Director General (DG) Health Punjab, Dr. Amjad Shahzad said that 31-year-old woman affected of dengue and under treatment at Ganga Ram Hospital of Lahore breathed her last on Sunday morning after which death toll has mounted to seven of which six belonged to Rawalpindi district.
Dr. Amjad said that during the current year 4200 dengue cases reported in Punjab of which 3260 belonged to Rawalpindi, 358 from Multan and 112 were from Lahore.
Despite decrease in mercury dengue cases continue to surface across the country which was alarming and the masses have demanded of the authorities concerned for taking solid steps on emergency basis to bring the situation under control and prevent the loss of precious lives.
