A prisoner allegedly died of brutal police torture during interrogation here on Saturday
Heirs of the deceased alleged that Wazir Hussain imprisoned in Kot Lakhpat Jail of Lahore in a robbery case was brutally tortured by the police. He was shifted to hospital after his condition deteriorated but he expired during treatment.
However, the police denied the allegations, saying that Wazir Hussain was facing health problems for last few days due to which he was shifted to Services Hospital where he breathed his last.
Family of the deceased has demand of Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif and IG Punjab to take the notice of police violence and order an inquiry into the incident.
