People having spirit of public service to be mayors, chairmen: Shehbaz

Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that the persons imbued with the spirit of public service will be brought forward for the slot of mayors, deputy mayors, chairmen and deputy chairmen of district councils.
He said it is the responsibility of elected representatives of local bodies to serve the people in the real sense and resolve their basic problems at their doorsteps. He said the people by expressing full confidence in the leadership of PML-N and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif once again authenticated the results of elections 2013.
He expressed these views while addressing the inaugural function of newly constructed KPSS Secondary School under the aegis of Alif Noon Parents Foundation at Sehgalabad, district Chakwal on Saturday.
Senator Abdul Qayyum, MNA Tahir Iqbal, Begum Iffat Liaquat Chaudhry, Special Assistant to Chief Minister Malik Saleem Iqbal, Patron-in-Chief KPSS Secondary School Sehgalabad, prominent banker and social personality Malik Ashraf Nawabi, senior government officers, teachers of the school and elites of the area were also present in large numbers.
Sharif said that service to the masses is the manifesto of PML-N and it is fully implementing it. He said such leadership will be brought forward in the elections of mayors and chairmen in the next phase of local bodies elections as should serve the people in the real sense and work devotedly and diligently for providing education, health, potable water, other basic amenities to them and resolve their problems. He said Khadim-e-Punjab Rural Roads Programme has been launched for the construction and rehabilitation of roads in rural areas of the province, under which Rs 50 billion will be spent this year.
The chief minister said that under a big programme of construction and rehabilitation of rural roads, a huge amount of Rs 150 billion will be spent on the construction and rehabilitation of roads upto 2018 and this project will strengthen rural economy. He further said that a big programme has also been started in South Punjab for providing clean drinking water to 35 million people in rural areas with an amount of Rs 70 billion during three years. Sharif said that he is pleased to inaugurate a quality school in rural area of Sehgalabad and newly constructed quality classrooms of KPSS Secondary School.
He said elected representatives of Chakwal and philanthropists should come forward and start projects of health and education for the people. On this occasion, the chief minister assured all-out cooperation of the Punjab government with regard to medical facilities and education in the area and KPSS Secondary School. Immediately after his arrival, Shehbaz Sharif unveiled the plaque of the school and also talked to small children during his visit to the school. Patron-in-Chief of KPSS Secondary School Sehgalabad Malik Ashraf Nawabi, in his welcome address, threw light on the details regarding construction of the school.
