Govt’s efforts made Pakistan safe: Rashid

Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Pervaiz Rashid has said that due to efforts of the incumbent PML-N government, Pakistan has been included in the list of safe and secure countries
He said the efforts would continue to improve the situation further.
Speaking in “Meet the Press” programme organised by the Press Gallery of Punjab Assembly here on Saturday, Rashid said that politically isolated elements wish to see state institutions clash with each other but the negative thinking and day-dreaming would not be let to turn into a reality.
He warned that the discussion about tenure of armed forces chiefs will harm national security and Operation Zarb-e-Azb and the matter should not be discussed publicly. “One should avoid to talking about the issues which were against the national interests and it is our joint responsibility to save the country of threats faced by it,” he advised.
Commenting over the visit of Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif to the US, the information minister said that it was the continuation of visit of PM Nawaz Sharif’s tour and both were aimed to boost bilateral ties and cooperation between the two countries in defence and other sectors.
The information minister vowed that the targeted raids in Karachi will continue till the elimination of last terrorist. He said that no criminal will be spared nor any pressure would be accepted in this regard.
He also stated that the cricket series between Pakistan and India can only be played in United Arab Emirates (UAE).
