Eight including four terrorists killed in Karachi

At least four terrorists were gunned down in exchange of fire with Rangers in Khairabad area near Northern bypass on early Saturday morning. One Rangers official was also injured in the encounter.

According to Rangers spokesperson, on tip off, the Rangers raided in Khairabad area where the terrorists opened fire and in retaliation at least four terrorist were killed on the spot while one Rangers personnel sustained injures. The terrorists were involved in attacks on security forces.

In another incident, two militants allegedly involved in Safoora carnage have been apprehended from Lahore who would be shifted to Karachi. In May this year, 46 persons were killed after terrorists opened fire at a bus.

The Rangers spokesman said that targeted operations had decimated extortionists and groups including political parties workers involved in street crimes. The paramilitary force has given a helpline 1101 to file complaints about extortionists.

He said that operations by law enforcers had destroyed crime networks in the city. The official said that extortion money was usually demanded under charity.
