Prominent Baloch leader Nawabzada Lashkari Raisani on Thursday resigned as member of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), citing the ruling party’s callous attitude towards his province Balochistan and its failure to resolve the missing persons’ case as the reasons behind this extreme step.

Lashkari Raisani, brother of former Balochistan chief minister Aslam Raisani, said the PML-N had become a party of one province instead of the federation. He said that none of the promises made to the people of Balochistan had been fulfilled by the ruling party in two and a half years.

He said the PML-N did not introduce any legislation for Balochistan, nor did it take any measures for recovery of the missing persons.
