The K-Electric has denied the recent press reports of over-billing or any illegal collections from its consumers. The company further stated that the electricity tariff is set by the regulatory body and not by the KE.
The K-Electric’s press statement reiterates that the KE respects its consumers and its billing, and collection figures are regularly audited. The KE works in accordance with the regulations of companies’ ordinance and SECP (Securities & Exchange Commission of Pakistan). It is further stated that the KE’s audited accounts were published on a quarterly basis in an open and transparent manner and audited by a reputed audit firm.
The K-Electric’s spokesperson said: “It is pertinent to mention that certain vested interests have been criticising the turnaround management success of the KE where the K-Electric is one of the top-performing companies in Pakistan and remains a successful symbol of privatisation.”
