A poverty-stricken woman attempted self immolation here on Sunday and was rushed to hospital where her condition was stated to be critical.
Woman identified as Nisar Fatima, mother of two children and wife of a labourer hailing from Basti Maulvi Hayat of Khanewal was facing severe economic problems to fulfill the domestic needs due to poverty and low-income of her husband.
The disappointed woman after sprinkling kerosene oil set herself on fire to get rid of miseries of life.
She was rushed to District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital, Khanewal where her condition was stated to be critical as according to medics 80 percent of her body was burnt due to fire and doctors were putting their all efforts to save her life.
