Four drug paddlers killed in encounters

As many as four drug paddlers were killed and a cop injured besides recovery of arms and drugs during separate incidents of fire exchange on Sunday.

According to details, the police raided a den of a notorious drugs pusher identified as Wahid, alias Bush, in Ittihad Police Station jurisdiction during which exchange of fire took place. The culprits started firing at police and tried to flee. In retaliatory action, two smugglers identified as Naseem Gul and Aleemullah alias Khan died while their accomplice Farooq managed to flee from the scene. The police recovered two pistols, two hand grenades and five kilogram of high quality hashish from the possession of detainees.

Another accused whose identity has not been ascertained was killed in targeted operation of police in Khajoor Market locality of Kharadar.

In Korangi Bagh locality of the metropolis, the police killed an accused named Muhammad Ilyas wanted by police in several cases of robberies and rape. Arms and explosive material were also recovered from the possession of killed criminal.

A policeman was seriously wounded in exchange of fire with two culprits in Pakistan Bazaar area of Orangi Town. The criminals managed to flee after injuring the cop.

WOMAN INJURED IN FIRING

A woman was seriously injured in a violence incident in the metropolis on Sunday.

Fatima, 55, wife of Gulsher, was shot and seriously injured in her home by unidentified armed men near Kala Pani area of Landhi. She was shifted in serious condition to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC).

RANGERS ARREST FIVE TERRORISTS, RECOVER ARMS

Sindh Rangers arrested five wanted terrorists and recovered weapons from their possession during separate raids on Sunday.

A spokesman of Sindh Rangers said the paramilitary troops conducted operation in Liquatabad, Lyari, Shah Faisal Colony and Sohrab Goth localities of the metropolis during which five terrorists were detained. The nabbed terrorists included a Lyari gang war criminal and arms were recovered from their possession. The detainees have been shifted to an undisclosed location for further interrogation.

Man electrocuted in Nazimabad

A man was electrocuted and a woman was injured in different incidents in the metropolis on Sunday.

Salman, 35, was electrocuted during work in Nazimabad No 7. The body was shifted to Abbassi Shaheed hospital for an autopsy.

A woman, Uzma, 15, daughter of Akhtar Khan, was shot at and injured by unidentified armed men near Murtaza Chowrangi in Landhi. She was shifted to Jinnah postgraduate Medical Center for treatment.
