Sadiq Babur Girgin, Ambassador of Turkey to Pakistan, called on the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak at Chief Minister Secretariat today and discussed with him matters of mutual interest with special reference to Turk-assisted development in KPK.
Former Federal Minister and Senator Salim Saifullah Khan and former special Assistant to Chief Minister Malik Riaz were also present on the occasion.
Talking to the Turk Ambassador Khattak informed him about the governance reforms introduced by the present provincial government as well as the development approach and said that both short and long term strategies were being followed to overcome the prevailing energy crises.
He said that energy requirements of service delivery system are being fulfilled by renewable energy and the provincial government was pursuing a project to convert the agriculture and public health tube wells of the whole province as well as schools and hospitals power connection into solar system.
He also referred to Swat motorway project and two mega housing plans besides feasible hydro power projects and that various foreign and local investors were taking keen interest in these projects. Adding that the provincial government will only welcome investors who could ensure early completion of the projects. He said that all the provincial government’s policies envisage the people’s confidence on the government which will help motivate the people to pay taxes in a responsible manner.
Showing interest in strengthening bilateral relations between Turkey and KPK government especially in gemstone, mining, energy, education and agriculture sectors, the Turk Ambassador proposed exchange of delegations in these sectors and also proposed to declare two sister cities one each from KP and Turkey which have identical traditions and cultures.
