NAB Khyber Pakhtunkhwa today arrested Javed Ahmad Ex-Director General Provincial Housing Authority involved in embezzlement and misappropriation of funds through over payment to illegal and fake land owners and causing a loss of more than Rs. 150 million to the government exchequer.
As per details, Provincial Housing Authority (PHA) was acquiring land for construction of a housing scheme for govt servants and general public at Moza Meera Jalozai, Tehsil Pabbi, and District Nowshera. For this purpose they acquired the said land under Land Acquisition Act, 1984 and determined total compensation of land as Rs. 1,015.175 Million.
At the time of the payment it was observed that extra payment is being made to illegal land owners and the total payment exceeded the original compensation. According to bank records, extra payment has been made to Land owners.
The accused will be produced before Accountability Court for obtaining their physical remand.
