Overruling the Election tribunal’s verdict, Supreme Court of Pakistan Thursday de-seated Pakistan People’s Party’s (PPP) provincial minister Asghar Ali Junejo.
A three-member of the apex court headed by Justice Saqib Nisar was hearing the case.
Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) had declared Pakistan Muslim League-Functional (PML-F) candidate Jam Madad Ali victorious from PS-81, Sanghar in the last general elections.
Junejo moved the election tribunal, seeking recounting of votes in the constituency after which the tribunal declared him winner following the process of vote recount.
Jam Madad Ali challenged the election tribunal’s verdict in the SC after which the apex court declared the tribunal’s decision null and void.
