Supermodel Ayyan Ali not indicted again and failed to appear before court due to sickness

Once again the Customs court could not frame charges against supermodel Ayyan Ali on Thursday in the money laundering case and adjourned the hearing till 19 November.

This is the fifteenth time she has not been indicted. Ayyan failed to appear before the Customs court judge, Rana Aftab Ahmed, where she was to be indicted after her acquittal plea was dismissed.

The counsel of Ayyan filed a plea before the court that her client was sick, therefore, she must be exempted from appearance.

The medical certificate of the accused was presented on the court orders. On this, the judge remarked that the doctor who has issued this certificate belongs to Karachi and it will be difficult to summon him if needed.The court ordered Ayyan to appear on the next hearing.

Meanwhile, on behalf of Ayyan, a plea has been filed in the Customs court for return of supermodel’s passport; praying that she need to go abroad for an important visit, therefore.

The model’s counsel, Sadar Latif Khosa, filed the acquittal plea in LHC on her behalf. The court admitted the plea and adjourned the hearing till Friday.

The supermodel was granted bail in July after spending around four months in Rawalpindi’s notorious Adiala Jail and after her judicial remand was extended 16 times.
