Waking up over increasing crimes in Rawalpindi city, the police have introduced a new system to improve the security situation. The police have discontinued the Mohafiz patrol system and instead they have been deployed at check posts at the entry and exit points and important crossings.
According to details, under the revised plan 650 additional policemen have been posted who would perform duty during the general hold up.
City Police officer Israr Ahmad Abbasi said the security plan has been revised in view of the increasing crime rate this would increase the sense of police presence in different areas.
The police would check the suspected vehicles, motorcycles and individuals at the check points and take immediate action on any suspected activity.
He said a detailed survey of squares, crossings and streets was carried out before implementation of the plan to ensure presence of police at all the sites.
