PML-Q President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain has accused that the entire government machinery was pressurizing and harassing the PML-Q candidates and activists, forcing them not to contest second phase of the local bodies polls in Punjab.
He stated this while talking to newsmen at village Bhallowali-Motra, Daska tehsil here on Friday, after offering condolence on the sad demise of the father of PML-Q Sialkot District President Ch Ansar Iqbal Baryar.
Shujaat added that the PML-Q was contesting the LB polls against the DCOs and DPOs not against the PML-N and other parties. He said that the PML-N government wanted to win the LB polls through the DCOs and DPOs. He asked the ECP to take serious notice of this nasty practice.
He urged the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to ensure the free, fair, impartial, peaceful and transparent elections of the local bodies, accusing the government of using the entire government machinery for the victory of the PML-N in the coming phases of the LB polls.
Chaudhary Shujaat revealed that the government has miserably failed in promoting the good governance, which had become a point of grave concern for everyone.
