Six terrorists killed, two cops injured in Karachi police encounter

At least six terrorists were killed and two cops injured in an exchange of fire on Thursday.

Arms were recovered from the possession of the dead terrorists.

SSP Rao Anwaar told media personnel that police, on a tip-off regarding presence of extremists, conducted operation near water filtration plant in Manghopir locality of the metropolis.

An exchange of fire took place between police and the extremists during which six terrorists who reportedly belonged to a banned outfit were killed while two policemen also sustained injuries. Police recovered heavy automated weapons from the possession of the terrorists killed the in encounter.

The bodies and injured policemen were shifted to hospital for medico-legal formalities.
