Passing the buck

In the National Assembly the other day, Khursheed Shah was blowing hot and cold about the sorry state of governance in the country. Whereas other parties can do so with a lot of justification, the PPP cannot as it was PPP that in passing the baton to PML-N also passed on a whopping, recurring, circular debt of rupees 500 billion, just to name only one of the many ills of the faulty energy policy of its party leader, which also turned a healthy 70:30 hydel to thermal ratio on its head.

In the Senate also PPP showed its anger at the government for its indifference for not announcing the climate change policy. Having gifted dozens of the oil guzzling IPPs to the country and having rejected the only project that could have brought about a drastic reduction in the emission of green house gasses with its 3,600 megawatts of clean power, it does not now behove this party to talk about climate change.
