Paintings, sculptures’ exhibition by French artist opens

An exhibition of paintings and sculptures by a French artist of Pakistani origin, Asad ur Rehman started here Wednesday at Nomad art gallery, Saidpur village.

The exhibition displaying 13 paintings and 8 sculptures was inaugurated by Dean of the Diplomatic Corp, Ambassador Rodolfo Martin Saravia and Madam Susana Negri.

Asad has lived and exhibited extensively in France, Pakistan and other countries. His art resides in the collection of numerous art connoisseurs.

Commenting on Asad’s work, Gallery’s founder and Director Nageen Hayat said, “His abstract expressionist paintings and sculptures depict the world spontaneously – as he sees it. His imagery and three dimensional work is unique and instinctive leading the viewer to see art differently and in a more real sense reflecting the beauty of life.”

“While creating aesthetically beautiful artworks his art cannot be viewed as merely decorative pieces – it is with a deeper understanding of the medium and though processes, Asad’s sculptures are quite unique often made of a mix of new and recycled steel, iron and alloy. He can be described as a cosmopolitan artists sharing art across international borders. In fact, his images do not require further words,” Hayat expressed.

According to the artist, he knows exactly where the splash of paint will fall. The mystery of art is something you cannot really pin-point. The exhibition will remain open till 22 November.
