Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) arrested three accused from Okara upon complaints of un-authorized activation of Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) cards and withdrawal of cash grant amount from accounts of the poor women.
The action was taken on request of the BISP. A joint team of FIA and BISP successfully raided multiple locations in Okara and arrested three criminals engaged in looting poor beneficiaries.
The BISP is committed to establishing robust systems in order to curtail the middle-man culture and to help its women beneficiaries in accessing their cash transfer amounts in a transparent manner.
The Regional Directorate General BISP Punjab has advised women beneficiaries to submit information and complaints of fraudulent activities to Divisional Directors concerned whose contact details can be accessed from BISP website.
